Payment terminals (Axium, Lane, Desk) used by banks and merchants worldwide
Ingenico designs and manufactures card-payment terminals and the software that runs on them, including the Android-based Axium range that hosts third-party apps. Its devices are distributed mainly through banks and payment providers in more than 170 countries. Carved out of Worldline and bought by Apollo Global Management in October 2022, it remains headquartered near Paris.
Our reading. Best for merchants whose bank or acquirer supplies Ingenico terminals and who want a widely certified device that can run POS apps; buy through the acquirer, not direct.
