Pixevia
Camera-only autonomous store and smart-shelf tech for small formats
Pixevia builds AI-driven autonomous store technology that uses standard video cameras rather than weight sensors to track what shoppers pick up, letting convenience stores, petrol stations and cafés run cashier-free or 24/7 unmanned formats. Its 'Retail Core' product reuses the same cameras for stock-out detection, shelf analytics and demand forecasting in staffed shops. The Vilnius company opened Europe's first AI-powered autonomous store in 2020 and is running deployments in the Baltics, Belgium, Italy, Poland and Asia.
Our reading. Best for convenience chains, petrol stations and cafés in the Baltics and Central Europe that want to test unmanned hours without sensor-shelf hardware budgets.
Strengths
- Works with ordinary cameras, keeping hardware cost below sensor-shelf competitors
- Same platform covers unmanned stores and analytics for staffed stores
- Supports both manned daytime and unmanned night operation from one system
Limits
- Implementation project with cameras and calibration; not self-serve
- Very small company for a technology that needs on-site support
- Few public references and no pricing
